POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist in the provision of patient care and related activities by preparing and scheduling patients for their treatment. The purpose of this position is to contribute to Terrapin Physical Therapy, Inc.'s mission to Create Happiness Through Health.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
While this list is not intended to represent an exclusive list of duties associated with the Patient Care Coordinator role, the essential functions include:
- Scheduling patient visits
- Answering patient questions in-person, as well as via calls and emails
- Managing patient charts with demographic, insurance, payment, and medical information
- Verifying insurance benefits for patients and explaining cost of treatment to patients
- Managing insurance authorizations for patients
- Checking in patients upon arrival and providing pre-appointment paperwork as necessary
- Screening patients and guests for COVID symptoms, checking temperatures, and asking for all to sanitize their hands upon entry to the clinic
- Organizing, scanning, and faxing medical documents
- Ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Personal Characteristics & Skills
- Kind and clear communication to all team members, patients, representatives from other medical offices, and others who do business with Terrapin Physical Therapy, Inc.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to effectively communicate and coordinate with physical therapists, doctor's offices, other health care personnel, and patients
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Basic understanding of how to operate standard business equipment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent minimum
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Previous experience working in a medical office required

Assist in the provision of patient care and related activities by maintaining a safe, clean, and effective patient treatment environment that contributes to Terrapin Physical Therapy, Inc.'s mission to Create Happiness Through Health.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
While this list is not intended to represent an exclusive list of duties associated with the Physical Therapy Aide role, the essential functions include:
- Ensuring that each patient is greeted upon entering the clinic and that their physical therapist has been advised of their arrival
- Preparing treatment rooms for patient care before each patient's visit
- Maintaining cleanliness of patient care equipment, pool, gym, and reception area
- Ensuring all necessary treatment equipment is ready for use at time of patient care
- Assisting in screening patients and guests for COVID symptoms, checking temperatures, and asking for all to sanitize their hands upon entry to the clinic as needed
- Preparing necessary laundry for patient care
- Monitoring and maintaining safe levels of pool treatment chemicals
- Guiding patients in therapeutic exercises as instructed by a physical therapist
- Other duties as assigned
